The Rally of the Lakes is a great event, filled with fun and excitement for all those attending. It offers an excellent venue for motorsport enthusiasts to come together and celebrate the sport they love. But with the love of the sport comes a responsibility to ensure we “Keep The Race In Its Place” and not on the public roads. The Shuttle will be at the rally to promote road safety. Try out our car, motorbike; bike simulators and practice your driver theory test and much much more. Come and have a look at the new audi A4 fitted to a hydraulic platform which can simulate a 90 degree and 180 degree roll-over which demonstrates how it would feel if you were a driver or passenger involved in a less than desirable incident. You will be shown the effects of being suspended by your seat belt and it will also teach you the importance of always wearing a seatbelt.

This is a road safety awareness event aimed at transition year students with other students from the school also being involved. RSA staff will be available to help the students carry out a mock driver theory test and show them all the other activities available on the Shuttle. Hi visibility materials will be distributed to students from the Shuttle.

The Shuttle will be open to the public at this event which is a multi-vehicle event with trucks, cars and bikes on show together with entertainment for all the family. Families are welcome to visit the Shuttle whereby children will have the opportunity to try out our bicycle simulators, view our road safety ads and try out the road safety interactive games for both children and adults. High visibility materials will be distributed to all visitors. We will also have the Audi A4 simulator which rolls over to demonstrates how it would feel if you were a driver or passenger involved in a less than desirable incident. You will be shown the effects of being suspended by your seat belt and will learn the importance of always wearing a seatbelt when travelling in a car.

Pupils together with teachers and parents will have the opportunity to visit the Shuttle and "StreetSmart" during road safety week at Rathnure N.S. The RSA Shuttle will be there to educate the students and teachers on Road Safety issues. "Streetsmart” involves the Shuttle as well as a Streetsmart Streetscape which invites children to carry out typical everyday cycling or pedestrian tasks. The Streetscape is in the form of a giant mat with a number of props provided to simulate a real street and which is assembled in the school hall.

The Shuttle will be on display at the BMW and Alfa Romeo event. This event is combined with bbqs, live music and lots of family entertainment in the village. The Shuttle will be open to all so feel free to come and speak to RSA staff in relation to any road safety queries you may have. Try out the road safety interactive games on board as well as trying out your skills on the motorbike, car and bicycle simulator.You will also have the opportunity to view the road safety advertisements on the plasma screens on board. High visibility materials will be distributed to visitors.
