Safety Wins as RSA and GAA issue Road Safety appeal to fans
The Road Safety Authority and the GAA have teamed up to issue a special road safety appeal to all fans driving to the All Ireland Minor and Senior Football Finals on Sunday 19th September.
Mr. Gay Byrne, Chairman, Road Safety Authority said “Fans will be travelling to Croke Park from Counties Cork, Down, and Tyrone, many by car, to attend the finals. We want everyone to enjoy the day and don’t want to see the trip to Croke Park to turn into a tragedy on our roads. Our message is simple, allow plenty of time to get to the game, slow down, never drink and drive and wear seatbelts front and back.”
Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael, Criostóir Ó Cuana echoed the road safety appeal by saying “Whether you’re on the winning or losing side, celebrating or commiserating, remember to act responsibly on the roads and Arrive Alive!”
