Review of Lower Drink Driving Limits

As of the 12th December 2012, 153 people have tragically lost their lives on Irish Roads. This however represents 22 less than this date in 2011. If this downward trend continues as expected, we will be on course to achieve another record low in 2012 in terms of road safety.

Welcome to the December 2012 Anam Cara Ezine. Needless to say 2012 has been a challenging year for many. In particular for bereaved parents and families who have to face into the future without their son or daughter. Thanks to the many 'Friends of Anam Cara' and their kind support during the year, Anam Cara continues to develop as a national organisation, offering online and face to face support services in the community. Thus ensuring parents have a safe and comfortable facility where they can connect with other bereaved parents.

New Booklet Advises How To Share The Road With Emergency Vehicles

Research revealed at the launch of the Road Safety Authority’s (RSA) new booklet, ‘Sharing the Road with Emergency Service Vehicles’ has shown that in the period 2007 to 2011, there were 54 collisions* on Irish roads involving an ambulance or fire engine.
