Ferdia O’Dowd RIP
It is with very deep sadness that the Road Safety Authority has learned of the passing of one of Ireland’s foremost motoring writers, Ferdia O’Dowd.
A colleague and friend for many years to his fellow members of the Irish Motoring Writers Association and to the much wider community of agricultural journalism, he died in the early hours of this morning Thursday 19th April.
Ferdia worked for many years with the Farmers Journal, and in his recent years he was the motoring editor of the Sunday Business Post.
Ferdia was among a cadre of Journalists that championed the cause of road safety from the earliest times. Through his various motoring columns he made a significant and enduring contribution to the road safety debate in this country and to the success that has been achieved in the area.
To his family, friends and colleagues we extend our sincerest condolences.
