Change to Standard procedures for conducting a driving test
The Standard procedures for conducting a driving test document has been reviewed following consultation with the Health and Safety Unit of the RSA and an addendum has been advised in relation to tester checks at the Vehicle. Page 6 of the Standard procedures document refers.
Original text:
Where any 2 out of 3 brake-lights are working, the test should be conducted. If necessary, it is in order for the tester to press the brake pedal to demonstrate to the applicant that the brake-lights are not working.
This text will be replaced by the following:
Alteration to text:
Where either of the two obligatory stop lamps on each side of the vehicle are not working, the test should not be conducted. If necessary, it is in order for the tester to press the brake pedal to demonstrate to the applicant that the brake-lights are not working.
Please note that this practice comes into effect from Monday 3rd October, 2011
