Interruption to supply of Digital Tachograph cards

Industrial action at the factory responsible for the production and supply of digital tachograph cards is interrupting the delivery of tachograph cards applied for by drivers, transport operators, tachograph workshops and enforcement personnel.

The industrial action involves rolling strikes. The Road Safety Authority is liaising with the supplier to ensure that applications for tachograph cards will be produced when staff return to work and before engaging in further industrial action.

It is unclear when the industrial action will be resolved. The Road Safety Authority has been advised that the supplier is using all industrial relations resolution mechanisms that are available to resolve the industrial action.

The Authority recommends that first time applicants and those card holders seeking renewal or replacement cards apply as early as possible.
