Irish Road Safety Week takes place nationwide from Monday 3 October to Sunday 9 October. Motorcycle safety, tyre safety, driving for work and vulnerable road-user safety are the focus of this year’s ‘Irish Road Safety Week’ which will see a week of road safety activities taking place nationwide from Monday 3 October to Sunday 9 October. The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is calling on road-users to get involved in the ‘national drive to save lives’ and to find ways to be better, safer road-users.

The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Shane Ross TD today joined An Garda Síochána, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) and TISPOL to support European Day Without A Road Death, known as Project EDWARD, which will take place on Wednesday 21 September. The initiative has been organised by TISPOL, the Traffic Police network in Europe, and its aim is that no-one dies on the roads of Europe on Wednesday 21 September.

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is advising all road users to take extreme care when using the roads as Met Éireann have issued a Yellow Weather Warning for strong winds from 10am to 9pm today, Friday 9 September.

The main Driver Theory Test Question Bank will have 17 new questions on alcohol and driving. Two of these questions will be presented in each of the changed tests from 10 October 2016.
