Driving test update

Driving test waiting list

If you are already on the driving test waiting list, please do not log in to MyRoadSafety to check for availability. Appointment slots are limited to those who have been invited to book a driving test and we will contact you directly when appointments become available.

If you have received an invitation to book a test, need to cancel a test, or wish to join the waiting list, please go ahead and sign in to MyRoadSafety now. For anyone else, we kindly ask you to visit another time when our portal is not so busy. Thank you for your patience at this time

We can only offer test appointments to essential workers

If you are an essential worker and haven’t already received a test appointment but need one urgently please complete this online form. We will contact you when appointments become available.

If you are not an essential worker and have an upcoming appointment scheduled, please cancel your test. Otherwise, it won’t go ahead and the slot will be lost. Don’t worry, you won’t lose your fee. It will be saved as a service credit for you to book another test in the future.

The RSA Check it Fits is a free child car seat checking service.

Our expert child car seat checkers will fix any incorrectly fitted seats or harnesses, show you how to do it yourself and answer any queries you have.

The service is FREE and open to all makes and models of cars and child car seats.

At the moment, the RSA Check it Fits service offers virtual appointments and all appointments must be scheduled through our online booking system.

Our virtual appointments take place via Microsoft Teams. If you are not familiar with Microsoft Teams you can find out how it works here.

During the appointment, the checker will ask you to show them the child car seat in situ and as such it is important that your device is easily portable, has a camera and internet access. The checker will talk you through the steps to check and adjust the child car seat(s) and answer any questions you may have during the appointment.

We record some information from the child car seat checks on electronic tablets to help us understand where we need to focus our education and all our data is collected in line with GDPR rules.

You can book an appointment with our expert child car seat checkers using our online booking system.

The length of your appointment will depend on the number of child car seats requiring a check. When booking you must choose an appointment for 1 Child Car Seat Check or for 2 or more Child Car Seat Checks.

You can then select a suitable date and time for your appointment.

You must provide your details (Name, Email, Phone Number) and if you have any particular issues or concerns you would like to discuss during the appointment you can add this information in the notes box provided.

Finally, will also be asked to provide information on your car (year, make, model), child car seat(s) (make and model) and the weight and height of your child. This information allows our checker to determine if your seat(s) are compatible with your vehicle and suitable for your child.

Once the booking is complete you will receive a confirmation email to the address provided as well as a reminder ahead of your appointment.

You can cancel or reschedule your appointment at any time should you become unavailable.

The team's main aim is to provide you with peace of mind that your child is travelling safely in the car. Please take the time to ask about Charlie when you visit and feel free to take a selfie and share on social media.

Aisling Sloyan, RSA says: We are excited to launch our mascot Charlie and to use him to educate children and parents. I would encourage parents and guardians to use our mascot Charlie to help encourage children to stay safe while travelling in the car. We should never underestimate the importance of educating our children on why child car seats and seatbelts are important.
