Please note that our customer service agents cannot book or cancel driving tests over the phone or offer updates on waiting times, so we kindly ask you not to call for this information. Driving tests should be managed directly through MyRoadSafety.ie

Essential worker declaration form for driver training

Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs) can offer Essential Driver Training (EDT) to essential workers. If you need to complete your driver training, please fill in an  essential worker declaration form and present it to your instructor.

Daytime Running Lights (DRL)

This involves vehicles having forward facing lamps turned on during the hours of daylight in an effort to make vehicles more conspicuous and increase road safety. (Closed 29th January 2010)

Daytime Running Lights (DRL) makes motor vehicles more noticeable, and research shows that DRL reduces the likelihood of multi-party daytime collisions, therefore helping to save lives, prevent serious injuries and reduce the societal and economic cost of collisions.

The RSA sought contributions from all road users, interest groups and others who have views, advice and suggestions on the policy options available in relation to Daytime Running Lights.

The consultative process commenced on Thursday 17th December 2009 and lasted until 29th January 2010.
