Latest guidance on booking a driving test.

We cannot book tests over the phone

Please note that our customer service agents cannot manage driving tests appointments over the phone, so we kindly ask you not call for this information. Driving tests should be managed directly through our customer portal

Who can we offer appointments to?

Now that Covid19 restrictions have been lifted we can start to offer test invitations to all customers. In the interest of fairness, those who are eligible to take their test and have been waiting the longest will be sent an invitation first.

If you have already applied for a test and are waiting for an invitation, there’s no need to contact us. We will email you directly when we reach your application in the queue. Please note that we operate a fair and transparent process for scheduling tests and will not facilitate queue skipping under any circumstances.

Appointment slots are solely by invitation

If you are already on the driving test waiting list, no further action is needed. Appointment slots are limited to those who have been invited to book a driving test so we will email you directly when we reach your application in the queue.

If you have received an invitation to book a test, need to cancel a test, or wish to join the waiting list, please go ahead and sign up or log in to our customer portal

Does the booking invitation expire?

Yes. Once you receive your invitation from us, you will have 10 days to select an appointment. To do this you will first need to register or log onto our customer portal This video will show you how.

I received a booking invitation but I'm not ready to sit my test. What should I do?

You don't need to do anything. Just let your booking invitation expire (10 days) and as soon as you're ready to sit your test, complete this form and we will add you back on to the invitation queue at the point you left.

Please note that this form is only for customers who have already been issued a booking invitation. It won't recognize other driver numbers.

I failed my driving test and have reapplied. When will I get a new invitation?

Once you have reapplied, you will automatically receive a new booking invitation 6 to 8 weeks after your failed test. If this isn’t enough time for you to prepare for your re-test, you can hold off booking another appointment until later.

If you failed a test prior to 1 December 2020 and have since reapplied, we will invite you to book another test as soon as we reach your application in the queue i.e. the 6 to 8 week timeline doesn’t apply in this case.

Can I join the waiting list until test slots are made available again to everybody?

Yes, you can add yourself to the waiting list. This video will show you how. We will contact you by email to invite you to book a test as slots become available. We thank you for your understanding and co-operation at this time.

I’m on the waiting list. When will I get an appointment?

Once you have joined a waiting list, there is no need for you to log back in to MyRoadSafety to check for availability. Appointment slots are limited to those who have been invited to book a driving test and we will contact you directly when appointments become available. At that point, you will be asked to log in and choose your appointment date and time. Slots will be offered on a first come first served basis.

How do I cancel my test?

You can cancel your test on in the ‘My Bookings’ section. Please select cancel and do not reschedule yourself until restrictions have been lifted. If you are cancelling due to Covid symptoms, don’t worry, you will not lose your fee. Instead, we will save a service credit for you and you will be able to use this to book a future test. Please allow a few days for this to process after cancelling.

Can I book a test over the phone or by email?

No. We are unable to schedule tests over the phone or by email request. To apply for a test and add yourself to the waiting list, please sign up or log in to MyRoadSafety. If it’s your first time registering, you will need to select your vehicle category under ‘My Goals’ before you can proceed to book a test. We will contact you when new driving test slots become available and at that point, you will be invited to log in and select your appointment.
