Important notice for learner drivers

  • If the date of issue on your first learner permit is on or after 4 April 2011, you must complete Essential Driver Training (EDT) before you are allowed to take your full driving test.
  • EDT is not required if your first learner permit was issued before 4 April 2011.

Car Driver Training (EDT)

Essential Driver Training(EDT) is a training course teaching fundamental driving skills to learner car drivers. EDT is mandatory to all learners who received their first driving permit on or after 4 April 2011.
