Motorcycle Safety – “Flowers”
On average there were 23 motorbike fatalities on our roads between 2021 and 2025*. As of the 18 of March 2026, 1 motorcyclist have lost their lives on Irish roads.
All too often, we see flowers and wreaths tied to lampposts and fences, a heartbreaking tribute marking the spot where someone never made it home. These roadside memorials have become a familiar sight in Ireland, but they should never be.

Our new digital and OOH (Out of home) campaign uses this simple yet powerful image to deliver a stark reminder: it’s not the season for flowers to be appearing this way, and it never should be. On average, 23 motorcyclists die on our roads each year. We’re calling on every road user to slow down and help prevent more lives from being lost.
