The Government has announced restrictions to further prevent the spread of COVID 19 in Dublin and Donegal

The Government has announced restrictions to further prevent the spread of COVID 19 in Dublin from midnight on Friday 18 September for 3 weeks until the 9 October and in Donegal from midnight on Friday 25 September for 3 weeks until the 16 October. RSA services and services that are operated on behalf of the RSA will remain open namely, Driver testing, Driver Theory Test, National Driver Licence Service, National Car Test Service (NCTS) and Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Testing (CVRT). 


Customers can be assured that all these services are following best practice in line with Government policy and guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID 19, which are being vigorously adhered to across all these services.  


All customers attending these services are advised they must adhere to all the standard COVID – 19 measures here as well as the additional restrictions that apply to this county here.


Driver Testing

Customers should attend for their scheduled tests in Dublin and Donegal as arranged and comply with the instructions that have been communicated to them in order to sit their driving test. If a test candidate is unable to adhere to the guidelines or unable to travel to the test centre due to the restrictions, they must contact the RSA lo-call 1890 40 60 40 to cancel their test appointment. Their test will be rescheduled free of charge.


Driver Theory Test (DTT)

Customers should attend for their scheduled tests in Dublin and Donegal as arranged. If they are unable to attend their theory test appointment because of inability to travel or to comply with the standard COVID 19 measures they should contact DTT service on www.theorytest.ie to cancel or reschedule their appointment.  DTT service will reschedule test appointments free of charge.


National Driver Licence Service (NDLS)

Customers should attend for their scheduled appointments in Dublin and Donegal as arranged. Those who are unable to adhere to the guidelines or because of inability to travel due to the restrictions should not attend for their appointment. Any person who has concerns about attending due to the restrictions should cancel and reschedule their appointment on the NDLS Booking Service  https://booking.ndls.ie/ViewCancel.php


National Car Testing Service (NCTS)

All centres in Dublin and Donegal are fully operational and customers should attend for their scheduled appointment as arranged. Those who are more vulnerable or those affected by the travel restrictions in Dublin are advised to contact the NCTS on 01 4135992 (Monday to Friday) to arrange an alternative appointment, free of any cancellation/rearrangement fees.


Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Testing (CVRT)

All CVR testing centres in Dublin  and Donegal are fully operational and customers should attend for their scheduled appointment as arranged. Where a test booking has been made and the vehicle owner is unable to attend because of the latest restrictions they should contact their CVR testing centre to cancel their appointment or to arrange an alternative appointment.
