'Road Safety Matters' Awards for TY Students

This awards ceremony is open to students who have participated in the new Road Safety Matters Transition Year (TY) programme.

This exciting award ceremony is to promote the importance of road safety for all road users. It is also an opportunity to recognise TY students who have shown a keen interest and understanding in the Road Safety Matters Programme in addition to engaging with the material.

The awards will be judged on following four categories:

• Create a road safety matters lesson for 1st year (CSPE / SHPE) students.
• Create a road safety matters poster demonstrating your learning on road safety.
• Create a short video on educating a Vulnerable Road User.

• Design a student friendly age related high visibility item.

The closing date for entries is Wednesday 4 March 2026 with a private award ceremony taking place on Wednesday 29 April 2026. Details of this competition have being shared with all schools and teachers currently delivering the Road Safety Matters TY programme.
