IMPORTANT NOTICE

Driving test update

Only essential workers should attend driving test appointments

On the day of your test, you will be asked to confirm that you’re an essential worker. If you are not, the test won’t go ahead. If you are not an essential worker and have an appointment scheduled please cancel your test.

If you are an essential worker and need a test urgently please complete this online form

Book or reschedule a driving test online

You can book or reschedule a driving test online by signing up or logging into our new customer portal MyRoadSafety. Any non-essential workers wishing to book a driving test can join the waiting list and we will contact you when appointments become available.

Covid-19 safety measures

We have introduced new safety measures to the driving test which candidates must follow. Know more

Weather disruptions

Check if your driving test is affected by adverse weather conditions. Tests will be cancelled if conditions are unsafe.

Driving test waiting times

Because of test backlogs, and the requirement to prioritise essential workers, fewer customers are being scheduled on a first come first served basis at this time. Because of this, average waiting times at test centre level do not show an accurate picture of how long a particular individual might be waiting for an appointment and therefore are not being published. We are conscious of the need to increase test capacity and work is ongoing to do this and get waiting times back to lower levels over a period of time.

How long do I have to wait

Please see important Covid-19 update here.

As a result of Covid-19 measures, our capacity to undertake driving tests, at pre-Covid 19 levels, has reduced.

Only essential workers should attend driving test appointments

We can only offer test appointments to essential workers at this time. On the day of your test, you will be asked to confirm that you’re an essential worker.  If you are not, the test won’t go ahead.

If you are an essential worker and need a test urgently please complete this online form.

If you are a non-essential worker and have an upcoming appointment scheduled please cancel your test.  You can do this by signing up or logging into MyRoadSafety.  Under ‘My Bookings’ you will see an option to cancel your test. You will not lose your fee in this instance. It will be saved as a service credit and you can use it to book a future test.  We will contact you when future appointments become available.
