Your IBT trainer approval or permit will expire at the same time as your ADI permit (expiry date listed on the ADI card).
Please note that the process below applies to permit renewals only, not new ADI applications.
1. Pass a check test
This step can be completed anytime in the year before your ADI permit expires.
We automatically schedule a check test appointment for you at your preferred test centre anytime during the year prior to your permit expiring. The details are emailed so please check your spam/junk folder.
If you haven't received an appointment or availed of the scheduled check test you also have the option to request an appointment when completing the Renewal Declaration form (see step 3 below).
2. Garda vetting procedure
Garda vetting needs to be completed no less than 3 months before your permit expires.
To start the Garda vetting process, please download a Garda Vetting Invitation form and make sure you read the guidelines carefully before completing it.
As you may be aware the timeframe for processing Garda vetting forms can vary in each individual case and in order to ensure that there are no delays in renewing your registration you should follow the process below:
Download and print the Garda vetting invitation form and read all the guidelines. Persons who are subject to Garda Vetting will be required to present in-person to an RSA validation officer, together with relevant documentation, and complete and sign a Vetting Consent Form (NVB1). Validation will normally happen at the same time as your check test however if validation is required other than at the check test (e.g. you require validation, but you have already undergone a check test, or your next check test is some time away yet) please complete this formOpen in new browser tabOpen in new browser tab so that the RSA can arrange an appointment for your validation. Please see here for the list of required documents, as your invitation cannot be processed without these. You will then be issued with a link by email to complete the full Garda E-Vetting form online.
Once you receive the email containing the link to complete the full Garda E-Vetting online, you should complete this in a timely manner. Please note this Evetting link will expire 30 days after issue if it is not accessed.
