Road safety advocates
Voices to inspire change.
The Road Safety Advocates Programme is designed to empower bereaved families or survivors of road trauma to tell their stories and try to change road user behaviour by sharing their experience.

About the Road Safety Advocates Programme
This programme aims to highlight the life changing impact and consequences for road collision survivors, their families, work colleagues and communities. It allows them to tell their story so that the wider public can better understand the life-long impact a road collision can have.
During this programme, we will provide information about the RSA, its mission, and goals along with any other road safety training relevant to support the telling of an advocates story.
Advocates could then be called upon for road safety awareness initiatives including media interviews, photography, press release quotations, speaking engagements, video package development or advertisements.

How you can get involved
We would be privileged to have you join our Road Safety Advocates Programme. Your experience has the potential to be a powerful influence, and its impact on wider driver behaviour cannot be underestimated. It would play a vital role in educating road users and help the RSA on its way to Vision Zero – no deaths on Irish roads by 2050.
Advocates could be invited to take part in a range of road safety awareness initiatives including media interviews, photography, press release quotations, speaking engagements, video package development or advertisements. We would also like to make a record of your experience and keep it on file.
You could also be a spokesperson during road safety awareness programmes or at media events where you can share your story. The scope of your involvement would be entirely up to yourself. You will not have to participate in any activity that you're not comfortable with.
