The Rose of Tralee International Festival Partners with The Road Safety Authority to promote Vision Zero and make public road safety appeal

The Road Safety Authority – Official Rose Tour Partner to the Rose of Tralee International Festival 2022

The Rose of Tralee International Festival is delighted to announce that The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is the Official Rose Tour Partner for 2022.

The much-anticipated 2022 Rose Tour featuring an entourage of 33 Roses and Escorts, will commence from August 11th and will visit key destinations nationwide including Counties Wexford, Tipperary, Limerick, Dublin, Kildare and more – concluding in Tralee on August 19th, for the festival extravaganza. To announce the partnership, Ms Liz O'Donnell, Chairperson, Road Safety Authority was joined by the reigning Rose of Tralee – Sinead Flanagan, at a special event, Herbert Park, Dublin.

Commenting on the partnership, Ms Liz O`Donnell, Chairperson, RSA stated “the RSA is delighted to be partnering with the Rose of Tralee Festival once again. By sponsoring the 2022 Rose Tour we will be able to bring the Vision Zero message to locations across Ireland. Vision Zero aims to eliminate all road deaths and serious injuries by 2050. The Roses and their Escorts will play a crucial role in helping us communicate, Vision Zero and lifesaving road safety messages across regular and social media. The RSA will also have a presence on the ground over the festival weekend in Tralee. The RSA’s road safety ‘Shuttle’ will provide the public with a hands-on road safety experience including interactive and virtual reality road safety games and simulators.”

The Rose of Tralee International Festival will take place from August 19th – August 23rd, with the Live TV shows broadcasted on RTE August 22nd and 23rd.

The RSA and The Rose of Tralee International Festival also took the opportunity in announcing the partnership to appeal to the public to help reduce the devastating increase in road fatalities this year. To date in 2022 a total of 90 people have died in road collisions, an increase of 29 compared to last year.  We all have a responsibility to stop this upward trend in road crashes by sharing the road safely with others and practicing good road safety habits.
